The excitement is palpable as the IPL 2024 season approaches, with cricket fans eager to see their favourite stars back in action. Among the most anticipated appearances is that of Pat Cummins, the newly appointed captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Taking over the reins from Aiden Markram, Cummins, a formidable right-arm fast bowler, is stepping into the leadership role with a solid track record as the Australian team's captain.

His leadership has been instrumental in Australia securing wins in the World Test Championship, and the ODI World Cup, and retaining the Ashes, earning him the title of ICC's Cricketer of the Year.

Recently, the SRH franchise shared an image on 'X', revealing Cummins donned in the team's iconic orange and black jersey, holding a cricket ball—a symbol of his commitment and readiness for the challenging games ahead. This new jersey design, however, has sparked conversations for its resemblance to the kit of the SA20 champions, Sunrisers Eastern Capes.

Adding to the buzz around the new gear, veteran SRH fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar was also seen sporting the fresh jersey, signalling a unified front as the team gears up for the competition.

At 31, Cummins has participated in 42 IPL matches, claiming 45 wickets. His entry into the IPL 2024 auction caught significant attention with a striking bid of Rs 20.50 crores. With the season set to kick off on March 22, 2024, teams are gearing up in their pre-season camps.

Sunrisers Hyderabad, aiming to clinch their second IPL title since their 2016 triumph, will begin their campaign against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens on March 23.

Fans are keenly waiting to see if, under Cummins's leadership, SRH can recreate their past glory in the upcoming IPL season.
