Yuvraj Singh, a name synonymous with resilience and brilliance in Indian cricket, is celebrated not only for his on-field exploits but also for his incredible journey off the field.

A key player in India’s historic 2011 ODI World Cup victory, Yuvraj battled cancer and emerged victorious, displaying unparalleled courage and determination.

His contributions to Indian cricket are etched in the history, particularly his iconic performance during the 2007 T20 World Cup, where he famously hit six sixes in an over against Stuart Broad. Despite facing personal and physical adversities, Yuvraj’s achievements on the cricket field have made him a national hero.

Yograj Singh's Plea for Bharat Ratna

Yuvraj’s father, Yograj Singh, known for his forthright and often controversial remarks, recently voiced a strong opinion regarding his son’s contributions to Indian cricket.

In an interview with Zee Switch, Yograj passionately argued that Yuvraj should be honored with the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award, for his extraordinary efforts, particularly for playing and winning the 2011 World Cup while battling cancer.

“India should award Yuvraj Singh the Bharat Ratna for playing with Cancer and winning the World Cup for the country,” he said.

Yograj Singh Accuses MS Dhoni

However, Yograj’s statements did not stop at advocating for the Bharat Ratna. He also reignited his long-standing criticism of former Indian captain MS Dhoni, accusing him of undermining Yuvraj’s career. Yograj’s remarks have sparked widespread debate on social media, with opinions divided over his harsh stance against Dhoni.

Yuvraj's success in the ODI format is a source of pride for all cricket fans. He represented India in 40 Test matches, 304 ODIs and 58 T20 internationals, scoring over 10,000 runs across formats.

His performance in the traditional format was commendable, with 1900 runs, including three centuries and 11 fifties. However, it was in the ODI format that he truly excelled, scoring 8701 runs with 14 centuries and 52 fifties, while also picking 111 wickets.
