The England Women's cricket team is currently on tour in India, where they are slated to compete in a three-match T20I series, followed by a one-off Test at DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai. This campaign serves as a strategic build-up for the visiting side, anticipating similar conditions in Bangladesh during the T20 World Cup next year.

Meanwhile, England captain Heather Knight, in her media conference ahead of the first T20I on December 6 at Wankhede Stadium, openly discussed the task at hand — managing to quieten the enthusiastic Indian crowd.

Knight further mentioned that they closely watched the World Cup 2023, which was held in India recently and straight-up labelled the Indian crowd loud.

She also seemed very concerned about trying to ‘silence them’ in the upcoming matches, just like Pat Cummins & Co did in the final of the World Cup.

Here’s what Heather Knight said in the media conference ahead of the series opener:

"Trying to silence the Indian crowd will be tougher. It is a hard thing to do to silence the crowd, we've just watched the World Cup and even if there aren't many of them they are usually very loud."

Knight also mentioned that the experience of playing in India, including the Women’s Premier League (WPL) earlier this year should help her side in this upcoming series.

“We have got some good experience of players playing in India as well which will be valuable. It will be a brilliant series between the two best teams.”

All the three T20Is between India Women and England Women will be played at Wankhede Stadium.
