Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain, has wrapped up his London vacation and returned to India post the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. India's hopes were dashed as they succumbed to a six-wicket loss against Australia in the tournament final, continuing their ICC trophy drought.

The ‘Hitman’ of world cricket showcased stellar form in the 2023 World Cup, assuming an aggressive role for India and providing sensational starts. He finished the tournament as the second-highest run-scorer, amassing 597 runs in 11 matches at a mind-boggling strike rate of 125.95.

Rohit Sharma, still recovering from the heartbreak of the World Cup final in Ahmedabad, has refrained from public statements. Choosing to stay away from the spotlight, he has been spending quality time with family and friends.

The Men in Blue recently won a five-match T20I series against Australia. Suryakumar Yadav led the team as Hardik Pandya has been recovering from the ankle injury he sustained during the World Cup.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma along with the former India captain Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah were rested for the series after a long ODI World Cup 2023 campaign.

All the aforementioned players will also be sitting out the white-ball series against South Africa, with plans for their return in the upcoming Test series against the same opponent.
