Shubman Gill's Gujarat Titans were humiliated in the 32nd match of IPL 2024 as they were folded for just 89 while batting first. In reply, DC completed the chase in just 9th over, and the loss has dented GT's confidence along with all-important net-run rate quite badly.

Gill though showed a brave face in the post-match interview and was confident that they can bounce back after a heavy loss. The right-handed batter admitted that their batting was average but added that it is important to move on and maintain a positive mindset.

"Our batting performance was very average, but I guess we need to move on. Even if we had a good game, it's important for us to move on from this match and maintain the same mindset for the next one. We need to come back and try again."

The GT skipper also admitted that the wicket was decent enough and it was just the poor batting performance that cost them.

"I think the wicket was all right, to be honest. If you look at our dismissals, the way I got out and even the way Wridhi bhai got out had nothing to do with the pitch. Sai got run out. So I don't think there was anything wrong with the pitch. It was simply a case of bad batting performance and poor shot selection I would say."

Gill also mentioned that they were always behind the 8-ball after getting bowled our for 89 and sounded hopeful of winning five or six games out of their next seven and end on the positive side of the table like they did in the last couple of seasons.

"When the opposition is chasing 89, you are always behind in the game unless someone takes a double hat trick. I mean, this is halfway through the season, and we've won three games. Nothing changes for us. We still have another seven games to go. Hopefully, we'll win five or six out of the next seven and be right where we've been at the end of the season in the past couple of years."

Gujarat Titans will next play against Punjab Kings on 21st of April in an away game at Mullanpur and would be looking to start afresh and gain some momentum going into the second half of the season.
