In anticipation of the highly anticipated clash between India and Australia in the final of the ICC World Test Championship, Ravi Shastri, the former Indian head coach, has expressed his belief that Virat Kohli's remarkable track record against the Australians could prove to be a foreboding sign for Pat Cummins and his team.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest batters in the modern era of cricket, Kohli has arrived in London following a resurgence in form during the Indian Premier League (IPL) where he ended the season with consecutive centuries.

Sharing his perspective ahead of this high-stakes encounter, Shastri delivered a stern message to the Australian squad. In a video released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) ahead of the eagerly awaited final, the Indian veteran reminded Australia of Kohli's remarkable history against them.

Shastri said that Kohli approaches the matches against Australia with a heightened sense of awareness. He added that the star batter recognizes the challenge posed by the Australian team and is mentally prepared from the outset. According to him, if the 34-year-old manages to establish himself and surpass the 20-run mark, we can expect some exhilarating cricket.

“Virat Kohli will wake up differently if the match is against Australia, he smells the coffee much earlier if it's Australia, so if he gets going, gets to 20, then we will have some fun," said Shastri.

Meanwhile, putting an end to a 1205-day wait, the batting maestro showcased his brilliance by smashing his 28th Test century, a pivotal contribution that aided India in retaining the Border-Gavaskar Trophy earlier this year.

As the WTC final approaches, all eyes will be on the encounter between Kohli and the Australian bowlers, with both sides eager to seize the advantage and emerge victorious in the battle for cricketing supremacy.
