The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has responded to the Bangladesh Cricket Board's request for a security consultant during the men's team's tour of Pakistan. After their T20 World Cup debacle in the Caribbean, Pakistan are all set to face the Bangla Tigers in a two-match Test series on home soil.

Led by Shan Masood, the Men in Green would be keen to live up to their standards and make the most of their home advantage.

Meanwhile, the apex body of Pakistan cricket has reacted to the Bangladesh board's request. A certain PCB spokesperson stated that Bangladesh would get a security manager as a part of their support personnel.

"Security managers or consultants are now considered part of the player support personnel just like a media manager or a team doctor. Even at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and other bilateral series, teams have traveled with security managers,” the spokesperson was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

However, he also clarified that the BCB hadn't raised the issue earlier when the PCB shared the security plan with them.

“If the Bangladesh Cricket Board wants to include a security consultant as part of their team management for the upcoming Test tour, then it is their prerogative. But as of now, the BCB have not expressed any security concerns with the PCB," he added.

“In fact, and as part of international norm, the PCB shared the security plan along with the MoU with the BCB last month and received no queries or additional requests," the spokesperson concluded.

The two-match Test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh begins on August 21 at Rawalpindi. After that, the two teams will take on each other in the decider at Karachi.
