In an gesture of goodwill and support, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki has extended a royal invitation to the Pakistan cricket team for Hajj 2025, contingent on their victory at the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024.

The offer was made public through a heartfelt video message from the ambassador as the tournament gears up in Dallas, with the Pakistan team led by Babar Azam set to begin their campaign on June 6 against the United States.

Ambassador Al-Malki's wishes for Pakistan’s success resonated with the promise of not just sporting win but also a spiritual journey, should they clinch the T20 World Cup 2024.

“Next year when they win the World Cup, god willing, they [Pakistan team] will be the royal guests for Hajj. I pray for Pakistan and its success and prosperity,” said Malki.

The ambassador's announcement comes as a significant token of the deepening cricket diplomacy between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, with the latter recently stepping up its game in the international cricket arena.

Saudi Arabia, which joined the International Cricket Council as an affiliate member in 2003 and escalated to associate status in 2016, has seen a cricketing renaissance since the establishment of the Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation in 2020.

Meanwhile, as part of the star-studded Group A, the 2009 T20 World Champions, Pakistan, are also slated to clash with cricketing heavyweights India, along with Ireland and Canada.

The T20 World Cup 2024, co-hosted by the United States and West Indies from June 2-29, features a total of 20 teams aiming for the coveted title.
