On June 1st, in New York, Indian cricket star Virat Kohli was honoured with the ICC Men's ODI Player of the Year 2023 award. This accolade came as the Indian team prepared for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Kohli's exceptional performance in the previous year earned him both the ODI Cricketer of the Year award and a spot in the Team of the Year.

Ahead of the award ceremony, the ICC's official handle on X shared a video that captured a memorable moment between Kohli and fellow cricketer Rinku Singh. 

In the video, Kohli is seen holding the Player of the Year trophy and cap, shouting "God's plan baby!" towards Rinku, who echoed the phrase back to him.

This phrase, popularized by Rinku after his victorious stint with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL 2024, has since gone viral on social media.

The 35-year-old’s performance in 2023 was nothing short of extraordinary. In the ODI World Cup 2023, he amassed 765 runs across 11 matches, boasting an impressive average of 95.62. His remarkable year included three centuries, six half-centuries, and a top score of 117.
