The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) overwhelmed Delhi Capitals by 47 runs at home in match number 62 of the IPL 2024 season. The win marked RCB’s fifth in succession, and sixth overall as they continue to make steady progress in their bid to qualify for the playoffs.

Faf du Plessis and co., however, still need to defeat defending champions CSK by a big margin in their impending final league fixture, set to be played on May 18. RCB Women’s star and WPL 2024 winner Shreyanka Patil seems to have already taken out her calculator to estimate their playoffs prospects, as evidenced by the triumphant message she recently shared on her social media account.

Shreyanka backs MI to defeat LSG, RCB to overcome CSK

Shortly after RCB ravaged Delhi Capitals by 47 runs to register their fifth successive win of IPL 2024, India women’s all-rounder and WPL 2024 alumni Shreyanka Patil took to X (formerly Twitter) and expressed her excitement over the team’s sustained playoffs prospects.

She also enquired about the exact margin with which RCB will be required to defeat CSK in their impending league fixture, and expressed her confidence over a struggling Mumbai Indians group to overcome LSG on May 17.

The RCB franchise had secured just a solitary win in their first eight league fixtures of the season, and spent a majority of the period languishing at the bottom of the IPL 2024 points table.

However, under the leadership of Faf du Plessis, a spirited RCB group consigned SRH to a 35-run defeat at the latter’s home ground on April 25 to set up a new winning momentum while heading towards the second half of the season. Since then, they have defeated Gujarat Titans (twice), Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals to register five successive wins.

With their latest win against the Capitals, the RCB franchise rose to number five on the points table, and a big-enough victory margin over CSK will elevate them up to the top four sides of the tournament just before the playoffs.
