India will lock horns against South Africa in the final of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on June 29, Saturday. 

Ahead of the highly-anticipated match, former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif backed Virat Kohli and stated that he could play an impactful knock like MS Dhoni played in the ODI World Cup 2011. 

Kaif expects a similar kind of heroic knock from Kohli in the final of the T20 World Cup 2024.

Virat Kohli will be eager to play an impactful innings and contribute to the team as he has been in poor form with the bat and has managed to score 75 runs at an average of 10.71 across seven matches.

Mohammad Kaif supported Virat Kohli and expressed himself and wished that he should step up and remember the unbeaten-91 that MS Dhoni played in the 2011 World Cup. He also claimed that MS Dhoni was not in great form but turned out as a saviour so the same can be expected from Kohli. 

The 'Men in Blue' has enjoyed an unbeaten run in the tournament so far in the lead-up to the final. The 35-year-old batter has been crucial for India in the ICC events, but this time the team has managed to reach this far without much contribution from Kohli.

India will aim to end their title-trophy drought for 11 years as they take the field against South Africa in the epic final.
