Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises have started their groundwork for the upcoming 2024 edition, having recently concluded the retention, and soon will be involved in a mini-auction next month.

One of the most debated topics lately has been the fitness of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who is currently undergoing rehabilitation from knee surgery. A viral clip indicated that Dhoni might still be struggling with his knee, however, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has squashed all such talks.

As quoted by India Today, Viswanathan stated that Dhoni is fit, and he will turn up for CSK next season and keep his promise.

After winning IPL 2023, Dhoni openly announced that the wicketkeeper batter would return for another season, after playing the whole season with a knee injury, that hampered his game.

Here's what CEO said

"If our leader has given a word, he has never gone back. He already told what he was planning to do in that intervieew. I am sure that knowing MS, he will always do what he has committed to do. He is quite fit. Thalaivan is thalaivan (our leader is our leader),"

Meanwhile, CSK heading into the mini auction have a purse of INR 31.4 crore, having let go of players such as Ben Stokes, Dwaine Pretorius,  Ambati Rayudu (retired), Akash Singh, Bhagath Varma, Kyle Jamieson, Subhranshu Senapati, and Sisanda Magala.
