'Have Played Enough Cricket' - Cummins Eyes Comeback After Crushing Loss To KKR In Qualifier 1

KKR beat SRH for 8 wickets in Qualifier 1 of IPL 2024 (X)KKR beat SRH for 8 wickets in Qualifier 1 of IPL 2024 (X)

Qualifier 1 of IPL 2024 saw Sunrisers Hyderabad, led by Pat Cummins, completely outplayed by Shreyas Iyer and Gautam Gambhir's Kolkata Knight Riders.

After opting to bat first, SRH's troubles began immediately when Mitchell Starc dismissed Travis Head on the second ball of the innings. From that point, KKR maintained their dominance, never allowing SRH to recover.

This day wasn't SRH's or Cummins' best, as they even lost their impact substitute batter on the first ball.  It was undoubtedly a challenging day for Pat Cummins and his team.

However, they have another opportunity to secure a spot in the finals against the winner of tomorrow's eliminator match.

Cummins was vocal about staying positive and focusing on winning the next game in Qualifier 2.

"We weren't where we wanted with the bat and obviously couldn't do much with the ball. Felt that extra batting was important (picking the impact sub) on this wicket. Thought KKR bowled really well, there was a little bit in it early on and the surface got better. We all have played enough cricket, and going to a new venue (Chennai) helps us as well, so we gotta keep this behind and move on."

With this win, Kolkata Knight Riders have qualified for their fourth IPL final. Finishing the league stage as the number 1 team, they demonstrated in the Qualifier 1 why they have been the best team of the season.

At the same time, Sunrisers Hyderabad have one more opportunity to avenge this loss and potentially disappoint KKR in the final.
