Rajasthan Royals’ pace sensation Nandre Burger has issued a strong warning to Royal Challengers Bangaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli ahead of the IPL 2024 Eliminator, scheduled to take [;ace at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Burger said that he would relish engaging in a sledging contest with Kohli.

In a video shared by the Royals, Donovan Ferreira asked his countrymen about his sledging experiences with batters. Burger replied that he didn’t have a particular batter he enjoyed sledging but wants to engage in a sledging duel with Kohli.

The two have faced each other in Test cricket before. In the second Test earlier this year, Burger engaged in a heated duel with Kohli, troubling him with short deliveries and exchanging staredowns.

The Royals will face the Challengers in the Eliminator match in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, May 22. Kohli and Burger could possibly face off once again. Although Burger hasn’t been a regular part of RR's Playing XI, he has been used as an impact player in recent matches. 

If RR opts to attack RCB’s batters with two quality left-arm quicks, Burger could take the new ball with Trent Boult.

Burger has taken 7 wickets in 6 matches this season at an average of 20.71. On the other hand, Kohli is the season's leading run-scorer with 708 runs in 14 matches. If Burger plays, his battle with Kohli will be one to watch.
