Mitchell Starc is known for being the main man in big matches, and the inevitable happened on Tuesday (May 21) in Kolkata Knight Riders’ crucial IPL 2024 clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), taking place at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
After SRH won the toss and opted to bat, the Pat Cummins-led side lost their aggressive opener Travis Head in the very first over of the innings, and it was Starc who delivered for the Purple and Gold Brigade.
It was a length delivery by Starc, and Head was absolutely deceived by the ball shaping away from him. There was a big gap between the bat and pads, and the ball went through the gate to knock the middle and off stumps.
In the process, Head fell without adding anything to the scoreboard for back-to-back fixtures, while KKR players were delighted to get the dangerous opener as early as possible. In fact, they could not have asked for a better start from their bowling attack.
