Karachi Kings pacer Hasan Ali believes the upcoming 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) can revive fan enthusiasm following the national team’s recent struggles.

The Men in Green endured a string of setbacks, including a home tri-series ODI loss to New Zealand and South Africa, a failed Champions Trophy 2025 qualification campaign, and a dismal white-ball series against New Zealand.

Hasan Ali On PSL As A Chance To Bring Audience Back To The Stadiums!

Hasan emphasized the league’s role in bridging the gap between disillusioned supporters and the sport, stressing its importance in nurturing young talent and providing senior players a pathway back to national contention.

Addressing the team’s recent woes, Hasan Ali acknowledged the need to play well and boost crowd support.

“When the national side underperforms, it affects overall cricket morale. We need to play quality cricket to bring disappointed fans back to the stadiums.”

He also highlighted the PSL’s dual role. “This platform [PSL] plays a crucial role in grooming young talent. For senior players too, PSL performances can pave the way back into the Pakistan team.”

Discussing Karachi Kings’ ambitions, the 2020 champions’ pace spearhead revealed, Bopara's experience to be beneficial for them.

“Many new things are going to happen and this time our full focus is on winning the title. Ravi Bopara has a lot of experience, which will be beneficial for us.”

Hasan On Karachi Kings' Coaching Revamp

On the coaching revamp, Hasan shared his experience with Shaun Tait as new balling coach and also elaborated on his personal goals.

“My experience with Shaun Tait has been good. PSL has completed 10 years, and all the franchise players will make this event successful by delivering their best performances. I performed well last year and I am aiming to perform well individually so I can return to the Pakistan team.”

Moreover, the Kings’ revamped coaching staff, featuring head coach Ravi Bopara and bowling coach Shaun Tait, will aim to steer the franchise to their second PSL title, with Hasan playing a pivotal role in their campaign. Their first game of the PSL will be held at National Bank Stadium on April 12 against Multan Sultans.
