On Tuesday, April 8, KKR locked horns against LSG at the Eden Gardens for IPL 2025 match 21. As expected, the match proved to be a run-fest as boundaries were flowing like water. Notably, KKR won the toss and opted to field first.

The decision turned out to be a disaster as LSG, batting first, put 238 runs on the board. Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran breathed fire as they smashed fifty-plus scores. Meanwhile, KKR too started the chase in style as KKR put 90 runs on the board after the end of the first powerplay with a loss of just one wicket.

Sixes were flowing in the powerplay. Meanwhile, the fans focused on ball-boys sitting near the boundary rope and observed that they were wearing a helmet.

Why Are Ball-Boys Wearing Helmet At Eden Gardens?

It was a beautiful gesture by the Cricket Association Of Bengal (CAB) as they prioritised the safety of kids who are the ball boys for the ongoing match. Thus, as a safety precaution, all the ball boys present at the Eden Gardens were asked to wear a helmet.

It is worth noting that there is no mandatory rule made by the IPL for the same, but the league has advised the state boards and franchises to look after the safety of ball boys with safety gear.

Also, it is not the first time in IPL that the ball boys were spotted with a helmet as similar step was taken by CSK at Chepauk Stadium in IPL 2024.
