India's star wicket-keeping batter, Rishabh Pant, celebrates his seventh anniversary of his Test debut, with his debut back in the year 2018 during the England tour. Pant wrote a special message on his Instagram story while adding a post from his Test debut, alongside Virat Kohli, the then-Indian skipper.
Pant Celebrates Test Debut Anniversary
Turning out to be one of India's finest and most successful wicket-keeping batters, Rishabh Pant has truly written his script, especially in Test cricket, with his aggressive batting approach. In his seven-year-long Test journey, Pant has managed to outclass every Indian wicketkeeper, even legendary MS Dhoni, with his batting exploits, as he now has the most hundreds for a wicketkeeper in Test cricket.
Pant's ability to transform a game, especially in red-ball cricket, has been one of the highlights of his Test career, where he has emerged as one of the finest ever batters, not just for the wicketkeepers, but overall in this era.
On August 18th, 2018, Pant made his debut against England at Nottingham, and it turned out to be a promising story. The left-handed wicketkeeper received his debut cap from then skipper and legendary batter Virat Kohli.
The fact that Pant's first-ever run came off a six against Adil Rashid was a testament to the fact that the Delhi batter would follow his unique template of going against everything, even in crunch situations.
Despite all the hurdles and rigours of Test cricket and personal injury trauma, Pant has not only survived but thrived in these seven years. Therefore, he took to his Instagram story to write some special words on his 7th Test anniversary. Pant believes it is a special day, as he attached a post from his debut, where he was seen receiving the cap from Kohli.
"Special day. Grateful for the journey and support," Pant wrote on his Instagram story.
