Sourav Ganguly, former captain of the Indian cricket team, conveyed his heartfelt wishes to the people of Pakistan and the cricket community after Pakistan's exit from the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Following a defeat to England, Pakistan secured the 5th rank with 8 points, while England finished 7th with 6 points, securing a spot in the Champions Trophy.

Reflecting on his cricketing days, Ganguly fondly reminisced about the 2004 tour of Pakistan, highlighting the camaraderie with players like Wasim Akram, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Misbah-ul-Haq, and Mohammad Yousuf. He playfully suggested Moin Khan, whose hair has turned grey, to colour them, adding a touch of humour to the conversation.

Here's what he said:

"I still remember that 2004 tour of Pakistan. What a tour it was, the memories are still fresh in my mind. Wasim Bhai is there, Misbah, Shoaib and Moin Khan… Moin has grown too old, his hair has turned grey. Colour them, like we do. It will look good.”

Ganguly praised Wasim Akram for his unfiltered reactions to Pakistan players' performances

"It’s good to see Wasim bhai at home. Earlier, it felt like he has roller skates fixed to his legs. Because someday he was in Delhi, the next day he was in Mumbai, or Pakistan or South Africa. But now he is spending some time with his family. His kids have grown up. I saw the picture of his son on Instagram. He’s more handsome than him.”

Closely following the ICC World Cup 2023, Ganguly shared his continued interest in the tournament and affectionately mentioned his enjoyment of Wasim Akram's critiques of Pakistani players.
