'Give Me One Reason...' - Ahmed Shehzad Slams PCB For Ignoring Domestic Star For Test vs England

On Tuesday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the 15-man squad for the first Test against England, and the omission of certain players raised several eyebrows. Former Pakistan opener Ahmed Shehzad has slammed and criticized the selectors for omitting two players, Kamran Ghulam and Mohammad Ali, from the squad.

In a video that he uploaded on his Social Media (Twitter), he expressed his displeasure and directly criticized the board, raising questions about the reasons behind the exclusions.

Ahmed Shehzad Raised His Voice In Support Of Kamran Ghulam

Kamran Ghulam, who was a part of Pakistan's squad during the Test series against Bangladesh but did not play, was once again overlooked. Shehzad, known for his outspoken nature, took aim at the selector and alleged that personal bias might have influenced the decision.

“Kamran Ghulam has once again been ignored. What I don’t understand is that Khurram Shahzad is injured, and Aamer Jamal is also not fully fit. Shaheen Shah Afridi is also not fully fit. Even then you have not put in Mohammed Ali. I am not able to understand what their options are in this,” Shahzad criticised the Pakistan selectors.

Shehzad was also baffled by the decision to leave out Mohammad Ali, particularly given the current fitness issues plaguing Pakistan's fast-bowling attack. Shaheen Afridi and Aamer Jamal are reportedly struggling with injuries.

He further added that Ali could have provided much-needed depth in the pace department, especially in the absence of fully fit fast bowlers.

“How will you justify not picking Kamran and Sahibzada Farhan in the squad? What sin did they commit? Is it because they bat in the same position where Babar bats? When Yousuf was the coach, he left everything on two to three players. Yousuf is the selector and this is the team he is selecting. Give me one logic why Kamran Ghulam was left out?” Shehzad added.

Pakistan's first Test against England is set to begin on October 7 at the Multan Cricket Stadium.  As the team gears up for a challenging Test series against a strong England side, the PCB's selection decisions remain under the spotlight.
