Shubman Gill recently led India to a 4-1 series win in Zimbabwe and now he has been appointed as the vice-captain of the Indian side for Sri Lanka T20Is. Suryakumar Yadav is the leader of the pack with Rohit Sharma retiring from T20Is after a historic T20 World Cup win in Barbados.

So, Suryakumar Yadav and Gill his deputy surely has lot of responsibility to take forward the legacy as World Champions, and the young batter has heaped praise on his new leader. Gill said that both Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma have the same understanding and communication skills and sounded pretty confident that SKY will take the team forward.

He mentioned that everyone's thinking is almost on the same lines and added that he has the experienced of playing previously under Suryakumar Yadav.

So, with Gill confident of Suryakumar Yadav's leadership skills, it would be interesting to see how the new and young Team India goes about its business against Sri Lanka under their new coach Gautam Gambhir.

The T20I series will start on 27th of July, while the ODI series will follow it, which will see the return of big guns like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli with an eye on Champions Trophy 2025.
