KS Bharat gritty knock came to an end as Tom Hartley bowled a perfect left-arm spinner's delivery to knock over his off pole. Bharat scored 28 off 58 balls and staged India's fightback after India were reduced to 119-7 in their run-chase of 231.

Bharat and Ashwin batted for almost 20 overs together and scored 57 runs between them but Hartley produced a perfect delivery that completely squared up KS Bharat and it all ended in disappointment for India.

It was a nice loopy delivery, around middle and off. Bharat lunged forward to defend it. However, the ball turned just a big and managed to beat the outside edge of his blade and hit the off stump. Bharat just could not believe it and stayed at his position looking at the pitch and then walked off painfully to the dressing room.

Ravi Ashwin too, was very disappointed and then ended up throwing his wicket with a careless slog. Credit should be given to Hartley though, who on his debut has produced a stunning spell, that would be remembered for years to come.

The fact that India took a lead of 190 runs after the first innings, and still let England get back into the game in their home conditions, is itself a matter of great shame for the team that is almost invincible at home.
