There is a constant debate among fans regarding the best T20 league in the world. Usually, it is the Indian Premier League (IPL) that takes the top spot and outranks PSL. However, a few pundits from Pakistan have rated the latter better than the Indian counterpart. Although a majority in Pakistan still believes that PSL is the second best league in the world.

There is no end to debates and public opinion, but the latest to join the bandwagon and comment on PSL is former Pakistan pacer Yasir Arafat. The 43-year-old has come down heavily on the PSL and rated the Big Bash League (BBL) as a better tournament than Pakistan’s premier T20 league.

"Pakistan claims that its PSL is the number two league after the IPL, but if you look at the numbers and the quality of cricket, I believe the Big Bash League is actually number two after the IPL," Arafat said as quoted by Geo super.

Arafat explains why BBL is tougher than PSL

"The reasons are the same—the conditions there are quite tough for players to perform. Recently, we have seen that six or seven players have struggled, even though Pakistan's top cricketers have participated. Alongside that, the quality of cricket there is very high," he said.

For the unversed, Yasir Arafat played for Pakistan from 2000 to 2012. The former seamer played a lot of county and English cricket, but never took part in the Pakistan Super League. However, Arafat did play in the BBL.

No PSL history for Yasir Arafat

Yasir Arafat featured for Perth Scorchers from 2013-2015, and since he has played in Australia, he knows the challenging conditions down under, which made him rate the BBL better than PSL. Also, not to forget, Arafat indirectly also hinted that the IPL continues to be the best T20 league in the world.
