England are the defending champions coming into this T20 World Cup 2024 and Phil Salt with his power-hitting at the top of the order, will be a key player for them. He was in brilliant form in recently held Indian Premier League and would be itching to continue that form in the World Cup as well.

Also, when Phil Salt last played a T20I series in West Indies, he was in belligerent mood and smashed 331 runs in 5 innings with an average of 82.75. So, naturally he loves the place and also has childhood connection with the Caribbean with him spending five years in Barbados as a kid.

He was once eligible to play for West Indies as well as an emerging player and naturally he is pumped up to play the World Cup in the Caribbean. Salt stated that everything about Caribbean suits him as it has a pretty laid back atmosphere and has got lot of friends in the Caribbean.

"Everything about the place suits me. Pretty laid back, a lot of cricket, a lot of sport and I've still got a lot of friends on the island."

Salt also added that he has fond memories of watching England win the T20 World Cup 2010 in the Caribbean and as a kid, he dreamt of winning the World Cup for England.

"I watched England here, watched them win it. I think every kid in the crowd would have gone, that's going to be me one day, or I'd like that to be me one day, but you never believe it," he said.

England will start off their campaign in the World Cup with clash against Scotland at Barbados, and would be hoping to start off with a bang.
