Anrich Nortje was in poor form coming into the T20 World Cup 2024, and there were doubts over his selection in the playing XI for South Africa's first game against Sri Lanka. However, the management kept faith in him, and the big man has delivered big time with a stunning display of pace bowling.

The pacer first got the wicket of Kamindu Mendis and then got the big one of Kusal Mendis as well, on the final delivery of the 10th over. It was a short delivery, angling on the middle stump line at 145 KPH. Mendis went for the pull shot, but got a big top edge that went in the air towards deep square leg where Tristan Stubbs took an easy catch.

Anrich Nortje did not stop there, and took two more wickets as Sri Lankan batters just could not handle the pace and bounce of the tall fast bowler. Nortje ended up giving just 7 runs in his four overs and has clearly shown the world why he is still one of the best fast bowlers in world cricket.
