The thrills are coming back as Team India and England are gearing up for the second Test match of the series. Though India faced a defeat in the last match, their batting brilliance troubled English bowlers initially.

Among India’s setbacks, Rishabh Pant’s twin hundreds lit up India’s innings. Even as an opposition, Pant earned heartfelt praises from English skipper Ben Stokes.

Stokes Showers Heartfelt Praise On Pant

After struggling long with his form, Rishabh Pant’s bounce back can’t be better as the attacking wicketkeeper batter smashed tons in both innings of the first Test match against England. In the first innings, he crafted a brilliant 134 off 178 balls and shared a 209-run stand with Shubman Gill. The captain-vice-captain duo pushed the team to put on a formidable total on the board.

With that electrifying innings, he left the cricket world stunned, and England captain Ben Stokes is also one of them. As quoted by Sahil Malhotra, Stokes admitted he genuinely enjoys watching Pant bat, even when he’s on the opposing side.

“Even though he is in my opposition, I love watching him play,” Stokes said.

After smashing a thrilling ton in the first innings, he carried on his excellence in the second innings. Standing on a crucial point, he stitched a 195-run partnership with KL Rahul and played a knock of 118 runs. Impressed by his fearless approach, Ben Stokes hailed Pant as a ‘dangerous batter’.

“When you set a talent like him free, you saw what happens. Very dangerous players. Really enjoy watching him,” he added.

Stokes And Co. Are Ready For The Next Target

After a 5-wicket victory in the last match, England is entering the second Test with a 1-0 lead. Despite early struggles, English batters’ mighty bounce back flipped the script. In the fourth innings, Ben Duckett’s unreal innings of 149 runs in 170 balls made the difference. Ahead of the upcoming clash, Ben Stokes remained confident in their chasing abilities.

“Going 1-0 up is a good start, long five days for hard-fought win. Getting back to zero for this game. We are confident in our abilities to go out there and chase runs in the fourth innings,” he said.

The big stage of Edgbaston is all set for the thrilling clash, raising the curtains on July 2. With India eyeing a comeback to level the series and England eager to extend their dominance, a thrilling battle awaits.
