On Wednesday, July 2, India will lock horns with England in the 2nd Test at Edgbaston, Birmingham. With just a day left for the much-awaited match, Jasprit Bumrah's participation remains a mystery.

In the latest developments, England captain Ben Stokes spoke to the press on the eve of the 2nd Test, where he was asked about Bumrah potentially featuring in only three Tests on the England tour. Stokes had a blunt reply, remarking that it's India's problem and the Three Lions are not focusing on this issue.

"India's problem to deal with," Stokes said when asked about Bumrah's participation in the 2nd Test as reported by Sahil Malhotra from TOI.

Bumrah Available But Participation Uncertain

India trail 0-1 in the series after a defeat at Headingley. As a result, some fans are urging the management to include Bumrah in the playing XI, as the visitors can't afford to go 2-0 down in the five-match series.

Meanwhile, India's assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate has revealed that Jasprit is available for selection, but the team is yet to make a final decision on his participation.

“He’s available for the game, obviously. We know from the start he’s only going to play three out of the five. He’s had eight days to recover from the last Test. But given conditions, workload, and how we think we can best manage for the next four games, we haven’t made a call on that. We’re going to see what the other guys are with their workload as well. So technically, yes, he’s available,” said ten Doeschate.

Bumrah All But Out Of The 2nd Test

Despite the suspense around the Indian pacer, recent reports suggest that the right-arm seamer won't feature at Edgbaston and will instead play the Lord's Test.

Meanwhile, Akash Deep, Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Washington Sundar are the bowlers likely to be locked in for the Edgbaston Test.
