Virat Kohli, the dynamic Indian batter, has been in some incredible form in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He has scored 500 runs in 10 matches with a strike rate of 147.49, this also includes four half-centuries and one hundred.

Despite being in form and scoring runs for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the Indian stalwart has been the talk of the town for his slow strike rate in the ongoing cash-rich league.

AB de Villiers Supports Virat Kohli On Slow Strike Rate Criticism

The South African legend AB de Villiers, on his YouTube channel, came in support of Virat Kohli, who has been facing continuous criticism for his slow strike rate since the start of the ongoing IPL.

He also expressed himself and stated that the discussion on Virat Kohli's slow strike-rate is groundless and unreasonable. He also added that the 35-year-old cricketer is one of the greatest players in the cricketing world.

He believes that Virat Kohli has been in commendable form in the IPL and he has some role assigned as a senior player in the RCB batting lineup.

“Virat Kohli, catching criticism about his strike rate. It's been going on for way too long and I am sort of fed up with that now. I'm frustrated, to say the least. This guy is one of the best players to ever play the game of cricket. He's incredible in the IPL, he plays a certain role for RCB, and I've pretty much had enough of data-driven pundits who keep criticizing this man. When you don't really have knowledge of the game. How many games of cricket have you played, how many IPL hundreds have you scored?" AB De Villiers said on his YouTube channel.

The former RCB batter also slammed the people and experts, who are raising questions about the slow strike rate of Kohli's batting. He added that experts and cricket pundits who are criticizing the Indian star player do not know the game themselves.

Overall in his career in IPL, Virat Kohli has scored 7763 runs in 247 matches 8 hundred and 54 fifties at the strike rate of 131.02.

RCB will play its next fixture against Gujarat Titans on May 4, 2024.
