On Thursday, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) earned an important victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, securing two crucial points crucial for their survival in the league.

Virat Kohli played a pivotal role, crafting a crucial half-century that proved instrumental in RCB's win. However, Kohli's innings attracted criticism for its slow pace, particularly noticeable after the powerplay overs.

Former RCB captain Kohli currently holds the Orange Cap in the IPL. He's scored 430 runs in 9 innings with a strike rate of 145.76. However, experts have noted occasions where Kohli could have scored faster.

In the match against SRH, Kohli's innings of 51 runs off 43 balls at a strike rate of 118.60 drew criticism from legends like Sunil Gavaskar.

"In the middle, he (Virat Kohli) just seemed to have lost touch. I am not sure of the exact numbers, but I think from 31-32 to the time he got out, he did not hit a boundary. So at the end of the day, when he got out when you are facing the strike in the first ball of the innings and you get out in the 14th or the 15th over, you have got strike rate of 118, that's not what your team expects from you," Sunil Gavaskar said on Star Sports.

Rumors have circulated regarding doubts within some circles of the BCCI regarding Virat Kohli's inclusion in the World Cup T20 squad

However, senior players like Rohit Sharma and other cricketing legends have strongly advocated for Kohli's presence in the squad.

Kohli's upcoming games will undoubtedly be under scrutiny, with particular attention given to his strike rate.
