Shoriful Islam says Babar Azam is his dream wicket (X.com)
With the much-anticipated two-match Test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh ready to get underway on August 21, Shoriful Islam, Bangladesh's star pacer, made his intentions clear: he wants Babar Azam's wicket at any cost.
In a recent conversation with a few reporters after training in Lahore on Friday, Shoriful highlighted Babar and he played together in the Lanka Premier League (LPL), and described him as a 'nice man.'
At the same time, Shoriful said Babar's wicket would be his dream. He said:
"Babar is the toughest batter for us and we need to get him out early. My dream wicket is Babar. Last year, I played in the Lanka Premier League with him and he's a nice man also."
No Clarity About Rawalpindi Wicket: Shoriful
In addition, Shoriful revealed he is yet to see the pitches in Rawalpindi, where the first Test between two Asian countries will be played. He added:
I haven't seen Rawalpindi's wicket yet, but I heard that they put in grass for fast bowlers. We expected some grass and every fast bowler likes it because of the little bit of seam movement it aids. That's a good thing for us."
Unfortunately, viewers might not even see Babar versus Shoriful battle, as there is a huge possibility of rain's frequent interruption during the first Test, which could potentially end the match in a draw.
