Preity Zinta, the co-owner of IPL franchise, Punjab Kings has filed an appeal in the Chandigarh high court against co-owner Mohit Burman to stop him from selling his shares to the third party ahead of the IPL 2025 auction.

The details have been revealed by a report from Cricbuzz where they have stated that Preity Zinta who holds 23 percent shareholding in Punjab Kings franchise is not happy with the decision with the Burman's decision as according to the rules, any stake that is intended for sale should first be offered to the existing promoters first and can only be sold to the outside party after the current promoters decline the offer.

Mohit Burman Denies Allegations From Preity Zinta

Mohit Burman holds 48 percent share in Punjab Kings franchise while Ness Wadia along with Preity Zinta hold 23 percent each.

Burman though has denied plans to sell his share of the franchise, but reports have suggested that he is planning to sell 11.5 percent of his total share. Karan Paul holds 6 percent in the franchise as the fourth owner and it would be interesting to see how the story unfolds as the Bollywood star has filed the petition under Section 9 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996.

Punjab Kings have been the perennial underachievers in IPL, and have reached the playoffs only once in seventeen seasons so far.
