The verbal exchange between Travis Head and Mohammed Siraj at Adelaide has been the topic of discussion for the past few days. Although both players have shaken hands and resolved the issue, Siraj continues to face harsh criticism regarding his on-field behaviour.

Former India captain and ex-Chief Selector of the Indian cricket team, Krishnamachari Srikkanth has criticized Mohammed Siraj's aggressive send-off and brutally voiced his opinions against his 'mad' behaviour.

Srikkanth believes Siraj should have applauded Head's match-winning century at Adelaide instead of engaging in a heated exchange after the dismissal.

“He has smashed the bowling mercilessly. Hey Siraj, don’t you have brains? What are you doing? Have you gone mad? He smashed you left, right and centre. He hit boundaries and sixes effortlessly in his knock of 140. You’re giving him a send-off after that. Is this called Sledging? What rubbish is this? It’s just madness,” Srikkanth opined on his YouTube channel.

The cricketer further bashed Siraj left right and centre for disrespecting Head. The ex-Indian cricketer also commended Travis' fearless approach towards Indian bowlers, especially towards veterans like Ashwin.

“One batter has scored 140. Give him credit, and applaud his knock. Instead of saying ‘brilliant knock’, you’re giving him a send-off? As if, you got him out on 10 or 0, as if you planned it and got his wicket! He smashed you all over. The Indian bowlers had no answers to Head’s onslaught. 140 off 141 balls. Look at that. He hit sixes at will. He didn’t treat Ashwin as a spinner, he is dancing down the track and smashing him,” added Srikkanth.

Eventually, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced disciplinary action against Mohammed Siraj and Travis Head for the ugly spat.

Siraj has been fined 20% of his match fee and received a demerit point, while Head was also handed a demerit point. However, both Head and Siraj are lucky as this was their first offence in a 24-month period. Hence, they will be available for selection for the crucial third Test in Brisbane on December 14.
