India and Australia are currently tied 1-1 in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. After a fantastic performance in the first match, the Indian team aims to maintain its momentum and confidence, especially following the struggles of Virat Kohli and captain Rohit Sharma.

Virat Kohli was impressive in the second innings of the first match, scoring 100 off 143 balls; Rohit Sharma, however, was unavailable for that match and struggled when he returned to the team in Adelaide. To address their batting issues, India organised training sessions in Adelaide soon after the match, and the stalwarts were seen sweating it out to better their game.

Kohli, Rohit Hits Net After Adelaide Slump

Unfortunately, the pink-ball Test in Adelaide proved to be a challenging match for both Rohit and Kohli. Rohit, who batted at number six after sacrificing his position, only managed to score three runs off the 23 balls he faced. Virat Kohli, coming in at number three, also had a disappointing outing, scoring just seven runs in India's first innings. In the second innings, Virat was dismissed for 11 runs by Scott Boland, while Rohit struggled again, scoring only six runs.

Rohit Sharma's recent performance has raised concerns, as he has an average of just 13.1 over his last ten innings across the previous five Test matches. Similarly, Kohli has faced criticism, with an average of around 22 this year across all formats and 26.6 in Tests. This mounting pressure from critics and fans has placed question marks on their Test form, leading both players to work hard on their games to improve their declining averages.

With the training sessions arranged, both the veterans were seen practising in the nets on what was supposed to be the fifth day of the pink-ball test. Alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and KL Rahul, Rohit and Kohli were the first to hit the nets facing throwdowns. With the pillars working hard, fans are now hopeful for a comeback at Gabba, where the next Test will be held on December 14 at 5:50 AM IST.
