Ishan Kishan, a household name for Mumbai Indians fans, who Sunrisers Hyderabad has recently roped in at the IPL mega auction, will have his days of nostalgia today. The batter ecstatically etched his name in history on December 10, 2022.

Just two years ago, on this very day, Ishan Kishan, carved his name into the annals of cricket history with a breathtaking double century against Bangladesh, an innings that left fans, cricket pundits, and the Bangladesh team in awe. Kishan became the fastest double-century scorer in ODIs with that historic inning.

How Ishan Kishan Swept Bangladesh Off Of Their Feet?

The young wicketkeeper-batter, donning the blue of India, unleashed blitzkreig in Chattogram during the third ODI of the series. With a thunderous roar from the crowd behind him, Ishan Kishan opened the innings and launched an assault on the Bangladeshi bowlers that would be remembered for years to come. His incredible score of 210 runs off just 131 balls turned the match on its head.

After Shikhar Dhawan's fall for 15-1 in the fifth over, Kishan swung his bat with all his might to destroy Bangladesh's pacers. The ball flew to every corner of the ground. A staggering 24 fours and 10 sixes adorned his scorecard, and his strike rate of 160.30 had the commentators and spectators on the edge of their seats.

In that 169-minute whirlwind at the crease, Kishan not only took the game away from Bangladesh but also unleashed his emotions, celebrating his historic achievement with Virat Kohli. The two formed a formidable partnership, adding 290 runs together, with Kohli contributing a century of his own, scoring 113 runs in that match.

Joining the elite club of Indian batters to record an ODI double ton, Kishan took his place alongside legends like Chris Gayle, Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, and Rohit Sharma.

Kishan's remarkable performance will be remembered for years to come, as the 26-year-old has achieved the fastest double century in ODI history, with Glenn Maxwell holding the second spot. Additionally, Kishan has been in good form in SMAT 2024 and is eager to meet expectations in IPL 2025 after experiencing a challenging start to the year.
