Punjab Kings managed to breach Chennai Super Kings' Chepauk fortress once again as they successfully chased down 163 after restricting CSK on a spin-friendly wicket. Harpreet Brar played a big role with the ball in restricting CSK's long batting lineup to a total of 162.

The left-arm spinner claimed two crucial wickets - Ajinkya Rahane and Shivam Dube - to put CSK on the backfoot. He finished with figures of 2/17 in his four overs.

CSK got off to a promising start with the bat, accumulating 55 runs in the powerplay and reaching 64 for the loss of the first wicket. However, they struggled against Punjab Kings' spin bowling, losing their way in the middle overs.

Ajinkya Rahane contributed 29 runs, while Ruturaj Gaikwad, the skipper, anchored the innings with a solid 62 off 48 balls. CSK pulled things back by scoring 60 in the final five overs to reach 162 by the end of the first innings.

For his stunning spell, Brar was adjudged the player of the match. Speaking after the match, Brar said:

"To be honest, I don't think wickets; my aim is only to bowl lots of dot balls, and dot balls create the wickets. When there is spin in the wicket, the bowlers' confidence goes up, and it is a bit helpful.”

In pursuit of a modest target of 163, Prabhsimran Singh set the tone with a brisk start before becoming Richard Gleeson's first IPL victim.

Rilee Rossouw then entered the fray, immediately finding the fence with two boundaries as PBKS crossed the 50-run mark by the end of the powerplay.

There were hiccups in the middle overs, but despite that, the chase remained unthreatened, with Shashank Singh and Sam Curran guiding the visitors to victory.
