In a much-anticipated clash, Indian pace sensation Jasprit Bumrah is gearing up for the upcoming five-match Test series against England, scheduled from January to March. The excitement in Bumrah's voice is palpable as he expresses his eagerness to don the whites and play in front of the home crowd.

"This is my favorite format; I love Test cricket. It gives you a lot of joy. Playing Test cricket was my dream, and I did that," Bumrah gushed in an exclusive interview with Brut.

Bumrah, who recently made a triumphant comeback to Test cricket after a year-long hiatus, showcased his lethal form during India's tour of South Africa. Picking up an impressive 12 wickets in two Tests, the Indian spearhead is determined to continue his stellar performance against England.

Reflecting on his love for Test cricket, Bumrah stated, "This is my favorite (red ball) because I love Test format."

Recalling special memories from his Test career, Bumrah shared one of his most cherished moments, "My first Test wicket was AB de Villiers in South Africa. All of these memories are quite special for me."

Having endured a challenging period marked by a stress fracture in his back that ruled him out of cricket for almost a year, the MI seamer is now back in top form. The pacer had even captained India in June 2022 in England before his injury setback.

Looking ahead, the 30-year-old expressed his commitment to maintaining fitness in the demanding cricket calendar and aims to contribute significantly to India's pursuit of ending the ICC trophy drought in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024.

As the Test series kicks off in Hyderabad on January 25, cricket fans are in for a treat, witnessing Bumrah's relentless pursuit of success in the game's longest format.
