Karun Nair is 33-year-old and is famously known for his triple century against England in Test cricket. However, he has been out of favour in the last few years, and has not been seen playing in IPL as well. He had a superb domestic season though for Vidarbha in 2024-25, and that has brought him back into the IPL fold.
Karun Nair Returns As Impact Player In IPL
Delhi Capitals have bought him, but they did not play him in the four match and Faf du Plessis injury against MI has finally given him a chance to show his skills. He has walked out at number 3, and the last time he was seen in the IPL was in the 2022 edition when he played for Rajasthan Royals against KKR.
In the 2023 season, he was in the LSG squad as a replacement of injured KL Rahul, but did not get a game. Talking about his last IPL match before the MI game, it was not a fruitful knock for the right-hander. He scored 13 off 13 balls while batting at number four and hit only one boundary in his knock.
His wicket was taken by Anukul Roy, and it was his last game of that season. The 13 was also his highest score of that season as he could manage just 16 runs in three matches. Karun Nair has also played for DC in IPL 2017, and now would be hoping to translate his domestic form into consistent IPL performances this time around.
