In a sensational display of dominance, Team India soared to a resounding victory against the visiting Englishmen in the Rajkot Test, clinching a 434-run triumph on Day 4 and surging ahead 2-1 in their five-match series.

The 22-year-old left-handed batter, Yashasvi Jaiswal, emerged as the linchpin of India's triumph, etching his name in the books of cricket history with his second double-century in the series.

Taking to social media to bask in the glory of victory, Jaiswal shared:

"A double century and a sensational win against England! Dedication truly pays dividends, yet it's moments like these that truly validate the effort. Immensely thankful for the support and the team spirit that paved the way to success."

Jaiswal's breath taking knock of 214 not out off 236 balls was peppered with an astounding 12 sixes, matching Wasim Akram's long-standing record for the most sixes in a Test innings.

Jaiswal's remarkable feat saw him become the third youngest batter in history, following the footsteps of legends Sir Donald Bradman and Vinod Kambli, to notch two double centuries in Tests. Moreover, he joined the elite company of Kambli and Virat Kohli as the third Indian to achieve back-to-back double hundreds in Test cricket.

Not only did Jaiswal shine individually, but India as a whole exhibited remarkable batting prowess, smashing a staggering 48 sixes in the ongoing Test series, setting a new record for the most sixes by any team in a bilateral Test series. The Rajkot Test alone witnessed a flurry of 28 sixes from the Indian camp, the highest by any team in a single Test match.

With this historic win, India not only achieved their greatest margin of victory—which spanned all four innings—but they also overtook Australia to take the second spot in the ICC World Test Championship 2023–25 standings.

The upcoming fourth test is scheduled for February 23 in Ranchi.
