Team India demolished the visiting Englishmen by 434 runs on Day 4 of the Rajkot Test to go 2-1 up in their five-match series.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravindra Jadeja headlined India’s big win with splendid centuries, with the latter even seizing a remarkable five-wicket haul during the decisive English innings.

Remarkably, the Indian team also attained a significant landmark through their remarkable win, which helped them break into an elite list with some of the greatest margins of victories ever recorded in Test cricket.

Rohit Sharma’s India rewrite history with record win

India's 434-run win over England at Rajkot's Niranjan Shah Stadium now marks their highest-ever margin of victory in Test cricket.

Back in December 2021, under the leadership of Virat Kohli, they crashed New Zealand's visiting party in Mumbai by 372 runs to claim their previous biggest win margin in Tests.

Moreover, the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team also registered the eighth-highest margin of victory overall in Test cricket, bettering England's 425-run demolition at the hands of West Indies back in 1976.

England walloping Ashes rivals Australia by 675 runs in Brisbane back in November 1928 continues to remain Test cricket's biggest one-sided affair in terms of runs.

Meanwhile, India's totalitarian effort over England at Rajkot took them 2-1 up in the five-match series. Last month, the hosts fell to a 28-run defeat to Ben Stokes and co. to concede an early advantage to the visitors.

Powered by majestic centuries from Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal, India bounced back in the  second Test at Vizag to bring their series to levelling terms.

India and England will now collide in match number four of the series at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi. The much-awaited match-up will commence on February 23.
