England's charismatic Test captain, Ben Stokes, has been a central figure in cricket for over a decade. However, as his playing days inch closer to an end, the cricketing world is eager to know what’s next for this iconic all-rounder.

Stokes, currently recovering from a hamstring injury, recently opened up about his future plans and his hopes for life after retirement.

Ben Stokes made his international debut in 2013 and has since become an integral part of England's cricketing success. From his heroics in the 2019 ODI World Cup to playing a pivotal role in England's T20 World Cup triumph in 2022, Stokes has left an indelible mark on the game. His aggressive style, leadership qualities, and passion for the sport culminated in him being appointed as England’s Test captain in 2022.

Despite his success on the field, Stokes has already begun thinking about the next chapter of his life. In an interview with The Telegraph, the left-handed batter revealed that he sees coaching as part of his future.

"I can’t see myself being someone who when the day comes when I do stop playing, I’ll just not be involved with cricket. I do see myself probably wanting to go down the route of being a coach. I think that’s just with my love for the game. When I’m done playing, I’d love to be able to try and affect a few people’s careers."

Ben Stokes' Possible Return To White-Ball Cricket

Though Stokes stepped away from white-ball cricket, he hasn’t ruled out the possibility of featuring in major tournaments like the Champions Trophy 2025. The England star remains undecided about his future in the shorter formats.

"It’s hard to turn down those sort of big events, isn’t it? If I didn’t play another white-ball game, I’ll be very content with how many games I’ve played and what I’ve been able to achieve. I don’t know what the plan is going forward, whether they see me being a part of that or not. I’m sure there’ll be some conversation at some point about that. And I’ll be happy either way," he said.
