Ben Stokes, the regular England Test skipper is well on track to make his comeback to the international stage after a hamstring injury he suffered during 'The Hundred 2024.'

The all-rounder missed out on the two-match Test series against England but has now dropped massive positive signs regarding his fitness ahead of England's next Test assignment in Pakistan.

Stokes in a video with ECB mentioned that he is still in the early days of his rehabilitation period, and he wants to make his comeback as early as possible.

He also stated that the reason he is staying with the England team during the Sri Lanka series is because he wants to give himself the best chance to get fit by being close to the physio and doctors.

"I'm all good, just slowly progressing. It's still very early days in the rehab period… I want to get back as quick as I possibly can, so being around the medical team here with physio and doctors, I thought that was going to give myself the best chance of getting back sooner rather than later."

Ben Stokes Wants To Return As All-Rounder

Ollie Pope, the captain of the England side for the Sri Lanka series also expressed his confidence in Stokes making a comeback. He also added that their regular skipper is eyeing to make a comeback as an all-rounder and not only as a batter.

"He's obviously still a fair while away off playing, and he's not trying to play as a batter and a first slip - just yet, anyway. But it's been great to see him.

The second Test between England and Sri Lanka is scheduled to start on the 29th of August at the iconic Lord's Stadium. The visitors showed good fight in the first Test match and would be eyeing to level the series at Lord's in the absence of Ben Stokes.
