Indian-origin Ireland cricketer, Simranjeet Singh, has been a crucial member of the Irish team in the recent past. It has been understood that the 37-year-old bowling all-rounder is battling for life as he is suffering from acute liver failure in Gurugram. He is currently in the Intensive Care Unit at Medanta Hospital, Gurugram, awaiting a liver transplant as per Times of India.

Singh's condition debilitated after several months of unexplained illness, at the moment the doctors are working urgently to stabilize him for the upcoming procedure. He previously developed recurring fevers and the doctors in Ireland failed to identify the underlying cause. It was only after his father-in-law, advised the family to seek treatment in India that he returned to the country.

A ray of hope amidst chaos, is his wife, Agamdeep Kaur, who works in Dublin and has stepped forward as a liver donor. The doctors are meanwhile, optimistic that Singh's AB+ blood type makes him a universal receiver and believe the surgery will provide Singh with a much-needed lifeline.

Moreover, the transplant is expected to take place soon, with doctors hopeful for a successful outcome.
