Young Indian pacer Harshit Rana has recently opened up about the challenges of bowling to one of the world's most formidable opening batter, Rohit Sharma, highlighting the Indian captain's exceptional skill set and ability to neutralise the pace weapon.

Indian senior cricket team captain Rohit Sharma, widely regarded as one of the greatest batters of the generational, achieved numerous milestones in his vast international career. He won the 2024 T20 World Cup as a captain to fulfil one of his last desires.

Rohit Sharma's superior and impeccable skillset, combined with a vast range of shots, makes up a formidable opening batter. Once the right-hander gets going, there is no stopping his carnage.

Can't beat him with pace: KKR pacer Harshit Rana on Rohit Sharma

Meanwhile, in a recent interview, India's promising fast bowler and KKR champion, Harshit Rana, listed the qualities that define Rohit Sharma as a great player in the game.

As a fast bowler, Rana revealed that bowling to Rohit is his biggest nightmare because he neutralises a pacer's trademark weapon, which is sheer pace.

Harshit Rana explained that Rohit Sharma's approach to the crease is effortless and calm. He bats as if he has all the time in the world, and due to his flawless timing, a fast bowler cannot beat him at his own pace.

Hence, against Rohit Sharma, a fast bowler is always on the backfoot because the pace factor is thrown out of the equation, added Rana.

Needless to say, Rohit Sharma's mere presence at the crease can be intimidating for young bowlers. His calm demeanour and confidence exude a sense of control, often putting bowlers on the back foot even before they have bowled a single delivery. And Harshit Rana appears to have had the same experience in his first full season in IPL.
