Last night, fans experienced a thrilling encounter between the Lucknow Super Giants and the Delhi Capitals, where Axar Patel and Co. kept their domination alive. While LSG crumbled under DC’s relentless bowling, the biggest twist came when skipper Rishabh Pant turned heads by dropping himself to No. 7 in the batting order.

This questionable move by the LSG skipper sparked buzz. And after the crushing defeat, Rishabh Pant finally broke his silence, revealing the reason behind his unexpected batting demotion.

Why Did Pant Came To Bat At Number 7?

In their latest showdown against Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants suffered a crushing 8-wicket defeat. Batting first, their batting woes hit them hard, but the biggest shock came when captain Rishabh Pant demoted himself to the number 7 position. However, the decision backfired on the side and raised buzz.

After having a good start, the LSG batters crumbled under pressure. After demoting himself to the number 7 position, Rishabh Pant came to bat in the last over. But his struggle continued as the LSG skipper departed on a two-ball duck. With the move stirring plenty of debate, Pant finally addressed the decision after the match, shedding light on the unexpected call.

“Idea was to like capitalise. We sent Samad to capitalise on a wicket like that. After that, Miller came in and we just got stuck in the wicket. Eventually, these are the things we have to figure out and try to find our best combination going forward.” Pant Said.

Delhi Capitals Continue Their Dream Run

As the Delhi Capitals are shining with their promising form in the ongoing season, they continued their dream run even in the last clash against the Lucknow Super Giants. While bowling first, the DC bowlers needed to wait for the first wicket, but after that, there was no looking back. Mukesh Kumar stole the spotlight with a fiery 4-wicket haul, dismantling LSG’s lineup and restricting them to just 159 runs.

While chasing the total, Karun Nair walked away scoring just 15 runs. But Abishek Porel and KL Rahul nailed the show with their brilliance. Porel smashed 51 runs off 36 balls before departing, but Rahul finished the game in style, sealing an 8-wicket victory with a magnificent six, remaining unbeaten on 57 runs.
