Sarfaraz Khan dropped 17 kilos in just two months, a stunning testament to his fierce commitment and hunger for a spot in top-tier cricket. Sarfaraz even garnered a significant praise from England captain Kevin Pietersen for his astonishing transformation.

Taking note of Khan’s physique reform, Pietersen praised the 27-year-old, and even urged fellow Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw to achieve the same.

Kevin Pietersen Congrats Sarfaraz Khan, Motivates Prithvi

On Monday, July 21, Sarfaraz Khan shared a picture of his latest transformation on his Instagram account. Former England cricketer and prominent commentator Kevin Pietersen took note of Sarfaraz’s transformation and praised the Indian batter for his dedication towards fitness.

However, Pietersen also took this opportunity to motivate discarded Indian batter Prithvi Shaw to work on his fitness as he aims to find his way back into the national team. Taking to X, the cricketer-turned-commentator wrote:

“Outstanding effort, young man! Huge congrats and I’m sure it’s going to lead to better and more consistent performances on the field. I love the time you’ve spent reorganising your priorities! LFG! Can someone show Prithvi this please? It can be done! Strong body, strong mind!”

Much like Sarfaraz Khan, Indian batter Prithvi Shaw has also faced fitness concerns in his career in the past couple of years. Shaw, who broke into the Indian Test team back in October 2018 and celebrated the occasion with a match-winning century against West Indies, played the last of his five Tests back in December 2020.

Sarfaraz Khan, on the other hand, last played for India during the home Test series against New Zealand late last year. The cricketer was subsequently dropped from India’s Test tours of Australia and England.
