As the anticipation for the IPL 2025 final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings grew, the fans were welcomed with a heartwarming surprise from AB de Villiers. The ex-RCB legend paid a warm tribute to his close friend and former teammate Virat Kohli ahead of the key encounter in Ahmedabad.
RCB are just one win away from their first-ever IPL title. Kohli has led from the front this season, aggregating 614 runs in 14 games, with 8 half-centuries to his name.
He’s in brilliant form, and this final is a golden opportunity for him to now finally win the trophy which has eluded him for more than a decade.
AB De Villiers Wants Virat Kohli To Bring IPL Title Home
In a video shared by Star Sports, AB De Villiers asked Virat Kohli to bring the IPL trophy home after beating PBKS in the IPL 2025 final. Not only that, he said that he would be watching the game from the stands in Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
“My message to Virat is to go out and enjoy and have fun out there. Put a smile on your face. I will be there watching you. Bring that (IPL) trophy home. Enjoy every minute of it," de Villiers said.
De Villiers also urged RCB fans to keep faith in the team and trust god’s plan, as an epic final is perhaps on the cards.
“To the fans, just buckle up. It’s going to be a great final. It’s going to be one to remember, and just be sure that the boys will give their absolute best till the last ball," he added.
The IPL 2025 final will be held tonight at the Narendra Modi Stadium. RCB have beaten PBKS twice this season, but anything can happen in a high-pressure final.
Kohli Requested De Villiers To Not Jinx IPL 2025 Final
AB de Villiers believes Royal Challengers Bengaluru are finally ready to get their hands on their first IPL trophy in 2025. Expressing his anticipation, he revealed, "The time has come. RCB is going all the way." Nevertheless, he shared that he had been told by Virat Kohli not to utter the hit line "Ee Sala Cup Namde." But ABD is convinced, asking fans to hold on, buckle up, and be part of the journey as history beckons.
