The social media verdict is out for the impending Punjab Kings vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru match for the IPL 2025 title. A day before the blockbuster finale between the two first-time title-chasing franchises, the official broadcasters of the tournament mapped out distribution of their fans among all Indian states.
The broadcasters unveiled the data on the basis of social media interactions pertaining to the two teams in the past 24 hours.
PBKS vs RCB, who’s got the fans in their corner?
As per data unveiled by IPL 2025 broadcasters Star Sports on their official X account, Punjab Kings is slightly pipping the RCB franchise on the social media race. The data indicates that in the last 24 hours, 51 percent of the fans have rallied behind PBKS while 49 percent of the fans have expressed their support for the RCB.
Indian states like Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and others are among those who are backing RCB. The Punjab Kings group found support from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Punjab and from certain regions of Uttar Pradesh.
The verdict might come out as a shock for some cricket enthusiasts, considering RCB boasts of a colossal fanbase owing to the presence of Indian batting icon Virat Kohli in their ranks.
The Punjab Kings line-up for IPL 2025, on the other hand, features mostly uncapped Indian stars, with international heavyweights like Shreyas Iyer, Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal and Marcus Stoinis being the only exceptions.
Nonetheless, the two teams will collide at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, June 3; with IPL 2025 on the line. The action will commence from 7:30 PM IST onwards.
