Kolkata Knight Riders had a great IPL 2024, as the Shreyas Iyer-led side won their 3rd title after beating Sunrisers Hyderabad in the finals. 

KKR ended their 10-year-long trophy drought as they last won the title in 2014. In the latest events, KKR's Co-Owner Juhi Chawla opened up on the franchise's initial years and stated that she and Shahrukh Khan had no idea how to run a cricket club. 

Chawla added that SRK used to keep meeting late at night and she would skip those meetings. The Bollywood actress also added that she was unhappy with SRK's decision to keep the 'Black & Gold' colour for the jersey as she considered black to be inauspicious. 

“He made it black and gold and I was not happy with it. I thought ‘What is this black and gold?' Because black is considered inauspicious.”

KKR donned the black & gold for the first two seasons. The franchise struggled in the initial years as they finished 6th in the first season while they finished last in the second season. 

It was in 2012 when they won their maiden title under Gautam Gambhir's leadership after beating CSK in the finals.
