In the ongoing Eliminator one between Lions and Stallions at the Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, the Imam-ul-Haq-led side, batting first, is in slight trouble. After 43 overs, they have lost seven wickets for 218 runs. Ubaid Shah was the star with the ball as the right-arm fast bowler shone early on in the match and crippled the Lions with three quick wickets.

Firstly, Ubaid took two wickets in his 2nd over of the match. He got rid of Rohail Nazir and Omair Yousuf. Further, Ubaid got skipper Imam-ul-Haq out. Despite an excellent bowling display in the ongoing match, Lions' batter Aamer Yamin hogged the internet after he smashed Shah for a massive six. The incident occurred on the last ball of the 34th over when Aamer made room for himself to his right and whacked the full-length delivery for a maximum into the stands.

The winner of the ongoing match will face Markhors in qualifier 2, scheduled for September 27. However, it is worth noting that both teams are missing key players, such as Shaheen Afridi, Babar Azam, and Shan Masood.

Why Is Babar Azam Not Playing Against The Lions?

Babar Azam, who featured for the Stallions, will no longer participate in the Champions One-Day Cup. The reason behind Babar's omission is that the Pakistan squad for the upcoming England He and other players selected in the Pakistan squad for the first England Test have been withdrawn from the tournament.

Not just Babar, but  Shan Masood, who were part of the Stallions squad, have also been withdrawn from the game. The decision to withdraw the players selected for the England Test was based on a recommendation made by head coach Jason Gillespie. The squad is slated to assemble on September 30, and training will start in October ahead of the first Test on October 7.
