India will take on South Africa in the ICC Women’s World Cup final 2025 in Mumbai on November 2. Before the big game, the Indian men’s team sent their best wishes via a heartfelt video message.
The excitement in Indian cricket is at an all-time high as the India Women’s team prepares to compete in the Women's ODI World Cup final on Sunday.
From Mumbai to Melbourne, every cricket fan, and even the men’s team, is rallying behind Harmanpreet Kaur and her side, hoping to see them lift their first-ever ICC trophy.
Gautam Gambhir, Shubman Gill and co. send best wishes to the India Women
Members of the Indian men’s team, currently in Australia for their T20I series, sent heartfelt wishes to the women’s squad ahead of the big final.
In a BCCI released video, head coach Gautam Gambhir led the messages with an inspiring note:
"On behalf of the entire support staff and the Indian team, I want to wish the women's team all the very best. Enjoy the occasion, be fearless, don't be scared of making a mistake, you've already made the entire country proud. Wishing the women's team all the very best for the World Cup final."
Men’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav echoed Gambhir’s sentiment, telling the women’s team to “just be yourself” and “enjoy the occasion.”
The support didn’t stop there. Arshdeep Singh delivered a fun message, saying, “The trophy is here only, you just have to pick it up,” while Sanju Samson reminded the women’s team that “the whole country is so proud of you.”
Rising star Shubman Gill wrapped it up perfectly with a line that captured the nation’s mood, “Wishing the women’s team all the very best for the finals. Bring the cup home!”
Indian fans praying to witness history
The atmosphere in India is electric. After years of near misses, including the 2017 World Cup final heartbreak and the 2023 T20 World Cup disappointment, the women’s team now stands on the brink of history.
Their stunning semi-final win against Australia, powered by Jemimah Rodrigues' unbeaten 127 and a fighting 89 from Harmanpreet Kaur has ignited belief that this could finally be India’s moment.
With Smriti Mandhana in good form and Deepti Sharma topping the charts for bowling, the stage is nicely set for a fairy tale finish. Meanwhile, South Africa, led by Laura Wolvaardt, will be equally hungry for their first global title.
